Historical Information.

The Branch of  A.A.Blagonravov Institute for Machine Science of the Academy of Scinces of the USSR  in Gorky city ( at present - Nizhny Novgorod Branch of  the Institution of the Russian Academy of Sciences  A.A.Blagonravov Institute for Machine Science of RAS - IMASH RAN) has been established in 1986 by the resolution of the Presidium of the AS of the USSR No.545 of  April 9, 1986.

Director of Nizhny Novgorod Branch of IMASH RAN – Dr. (Physics & Mathimatics), Professor, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation Vladimir N. PEREVEZENTSEV.

The Structure of Nizhny Novgorod Branch of IMASH RAN:

Research is conducted in nine scientific labs.:

• Lab. of  Superplasticity
• Lab. of  Strengthening Processes
• Lab  of  Laser Technologies
• Lab. of  Wave Processes in Materials and Structures
• Lab. of  Tribological and  Ecological Reliability of Machines
• Lab. of   Vibration Protection for Machines
• Lab. of  Nondestructive Control and Diagnostics of Materials and Structures
• Lab. of Tribophysiscs
• Lab. of  Research of Nanomaterials

In the staff of the Nizhny Novrorod subsiduary of the IMASH RAN there is one Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Academician Fedor M.Mitenkov - is working part-time), eight Sc.Ds. and twenty nine Ph.Ds. (total – 50 regular ones).
